How to Keep a Better Complexion Throughout Your Lifetime

A woman's complexion is important to her self-esteem.  However, your complexion is constantly changing throughout her life.  Here are some tips on how to keep your complexion at it's best throughout your life.

  • In your 20's - The top skin complaint of women in their 20s is acne.  Unfortunately, many acne-fighting can be overly drying.  A gentler solution to this problem would be to try tea tree oil.  Tea tree oil contains antibacterial agents that can target the bacteria that actually causes blemishes.  You should dip a cottonball in the tea tree oil and dab it on your face.  Tea tree oil can be found in drugstores.
  • In your 30's - Many women in their teen years spent many hours in the sun without the protection of SPF lotions or creams.  If you did that, you will probably start noticing some wrinkles cropping up when you reach your 30's. To help reduce wrinkles and sunspots, you should turn to glycolic acid.  Glycolic acid removes dead skin cells and stimulates cell renewal.  It also triggers collagen production.  You should look for products with 5% to 8% glycolic acid for best results.
  • In your 40's - This is the time you will probably start seeing tiny lines appearing.  To combat these lines, you should try retinoid products which are derived from vitamin A.  These products can help eliminate or reduce those lines because they fire up collagen production to fill in wrinkles and regenerate elastin to increase suppleness.  Your skin's production of oil also drops in your 40s, meaning your skin will suffer from increased dryness.  Moisturizers infused with coffeeberry extract will not only rehydrate your skin, but they will also prevent cell damage.
  • In your 50's - You may start noticing brown spots on your face when you reach your 50s.  If so, the best solution can be found in the dairy aisle of your grocery store.  Buttermilk contains mild acids that safely peel away the top layer of your skin, thereby reducing the appearance of age spots as effectively as pricey over-the-counter remedies.  The suggested treatment is to dab any spots with buttermilk, wait 10 minutes, then wash it off.  Repeat daily.
  • In your 60's and beyond - The elasticity of your skin will diminish with age.  You can use a cream infused with dill extract to fight this.  Dill extract will help to pump up your levels of elastin in your skin.
