Successful Entrepreneurs Supplement Their Nutrition

They Make Supplements Part Of Their Health Habits

by Michael D. Hume, M.S.

If you're in business for yourself, and especially if you're one of the thousands of entrepreneurs running an internet business from your home office, you know you have to take personal responsibility for your own health and vitality. No one's going to do it for you, just like no one else can run your business for you. If you don't drive the enterprise, no one will, and that's why you have to have gas in the tank. You have to be energetic and vital.

To accomplish this, I believe in five daily disciplines I refer to as The NEWSS: Nutrition, Exercise, Water, Sleep, and Supplements. You have to watch what you eat and drink, and you have to exercise every day, and you have to get enough water and sleep, as I've mentioned in previous articles. Today, think about the supplements you need to take to make sure you're sufficiently nourishing your body.

Start with a multi-vitamin. There are several good ones on the market, and you need something that will cover what today's modern diet doesn't supply. If you take no other supplements, make sure you get a multi-vitamin every day, and preferably with every meal. I recommend a liquid nutraceutical that's easy to absorb at your body's cellular level... there are plenty of pills available that you can take, too.

In addition to a good multi-vitamin, I always suggest supplementing with extra Vitamin E and Vitamin C.

If you're willing and able to do more, I'd suggest you next add oils and anitoxidants. A basic Omega-3 oil compound is easy to find at your local grocery... it should include oils from a variety of sources, such as fish, flax, and borage. Next, think about cancer-fighting antioxidants such as food carotenes, lutein, lycopene, alpha-lipoic acid, quecetin, bromelain, selenium, and grape seed extract.

The next level of supplement should be digestive aids, to make sure you're processing your nutrients as efficiently as possible (especially since today's diet too often includes processed foods and "food" that just isn't good for contributing to your overall health). Start with acidophilus, to ensure your digestive flora and bacteria are optimized... then consider grapefruit seed extract ("GSE"), oil of oregano, pal d'arco, and if you're on a low-carb diet, L-Carnitine and pantothenic acid.

Whew! That's a lot. But there are still more supplements you might want to consider: green tea extract and gingko biloba for brain function; chromium picolinate and DHEA for energy and workout-effectivenesss, Saw Palmetto for prostrate health (for men), and perhaps the best overall second-level supplement, CoQ10 for heart health.

Do you need to take all of these? No, though the older you get, the more you might want to consider supplementing your diet. The main point is to make sure you're taking at least a good multi-vitamin, to ensure you're doing what you can to keep your energy level high enough to run your business.

Why not pick up some multi-vitamins, and start supplementing your nutrition today? You need your health. Your body needs energy, to allow you to drive your business.

So start today. Supplement your diet, boost your energy, and protect your business' bottom line.
