Caffeine Connection - Breast Tenderness in Women - Do I Have Breast Cancer?

Are you one of the many women that suffer from sore, painful breast associated with fibrocystic breast changes? Caffeine has been identified by researchers as a possible contributing cause of this discomfort. You should consult with your physician to rule out any disease. Along with a mammogram and examination.

Caffeine contains a chemical called methylxanthine that causes blood vessels to dilate. The microscopic swelling of the vessels can cause the breast to swell and add to breast pain. Other causes of cyclic swelling is in ladies with diets high in salt. Salt increases fluid retention, and this will put strain on breast tissue.

Removing or reducing the caffeine out of your diet is recommended to reduce the pain. Many women have reported an improvement in the discomfort and pain after approximately two months, while some women do not report any relief. If committed, some women find that the response is more slowly and may take up to a year. For immediate pain relief you can try a topical pain relief gel that is not heat based.

Try reducing caffeine in your diet. If so, you may experience headaches as your body is going through withdraws from caffeine. To possibly prevent this, gradually reduce your caffeine intake to lessen the impact. Headaches may last from one to seven days.
